Black & White Pie
Part chocolate, part vanilla, this dessert is a super-simple, decadent, velvety-smooth pie that is the perfect ending to any meal.
Crust:
1 9-inch chocolate cookie crust
Filling:
4 ounces cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 ounces mascarpone cheese
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
3/4 cup chocolate chips
Topping:
1/2 cup heavy cream
2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Filling:
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, vanilla and sugar together until smooth. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese and heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold into the cream cheese mixture. Fold in the chocolate chips. Pour mixture into the pie crust.
Topping:
In a small saucepan, cook the heavy cream and chocolate chips over low heat until chocolate is melted and sauce is thickened slightly, stirring constantly. Pour over pie filling and spread evenly.
Chill pie in fridge for at least 2 hours before serving.
Yields 1 pie.
